The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Mikolaj Grzeskowiak’s complaint against Glanmire Supermarkets Limited over an unpaid Sunday premium because it was referred outside the statutory time limit. The decision was dated 8 August 2024. Grzeskowiak, a baker, said he had not received a Sunday premium and understood his contract’s promise of an extra day off when working Sundays to mean additional pay or time off in lieu. The company disputed the claim and argued that it was late; its manager said the contract meant two weekdays off in a week when he worked Sunday. The adjudication officer found Grzeskowiak had not shown reasonable cause for the delay, noting that he had received legal advice during the relevant period. The time limit decided the case, so the merits of his claim were not decided.
