The WRC found a worker’s €27,853.80 unpaid wages complaint was not well founded. Adjudication Officer Thomas O’Driscoll dated the decision 14 November 2023. The worker claimed wages for a period of unpaid lay-off; the employer said his contract allowed lay-off without pay. The officer found the contract’s terms had been accepted through the worker’s conduct and that no wages were due during lay-off. The reasons for the lay-off under the Redundancy Payments Act were outside the WRC’s jurisdiction in this complaint.
