The Workplace Relations Commission did not uphold Barbara Czopek’s unfair-dismissal complaint against The Printed Image in a decision dated 11 December 2023. Czopek said she started work in January 2021, while the company said she was a casual contractor until becoming an employee in September 2021. The WRC found she had less than one year’s continuous service as an employee, so the Unfair Dismissals Act did not apply. It also rejected her allegation that documents submitted by the company were forgeries.
