The Workplace Relations Commission found no discrimination after the National Women’s Council of Ireland refused Sarah Holmes entry to an event in Dublin. The decision, dated 27 October 2023, found that a legal exception allowing refusals to address substantial safety risks applied.

Holmes said she was refused entry because of her beliefs and alleged the Council victimised her. The Council said it acted after a press release prompted concerns about safety at the event. The WRC found the refusal was on grounds other than discriminatory grounds. Its final decision says there was no discrimination; it does not separately determine the victimisation allegation.
