The Workplace Relations Commission upheld two complaints by Ashling Kempton and ordered her employer to pay €794.56 and €641.76 for unlawful deductions from her wages. The decision was dated 14 March 2023.
Kempton worked as an employment facilitator, helping people with disabilities into work. She said her pay was reduced without agreement after an increment; the employer said its budget did not fund the increase. The adjudicator found the increase was properly payable under a verbal commitment, and the later reduction was unauthorised. The awards cover separate periods of deductions.
