WRC says it cannot hear Andrew Stanley’s late redundancy claim

The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to decide Andrew Stanley’s redundancy payment claim against Legs Eleven. The decision was dated 10 January 2024; the merits were not decided. Stanley said there was a shortfall in the payment due when his employment ended on 1 July 2020. Legs Eleven disputed the claim, saying he had resigned voluntarily and was not entitled to redundancy pay. The WRC found the claim was referred on 13 June 2022, outside the 52-week time limit, and Stanley had not shown reasonable cause for the delay.
