The WRC found that Lough Rynn Castle Limited did not discriminate against hotel employee Hannah Duignan by failing to make reasonable accommodation for her disability. In a decision dated 25 October 2022, the adjudication officer said the employer arranged a medical assessment before her complaint was lodged and no reasonable accommodation was open to it in the circumstances. Duignan had alleged that the hotel failed to take steps to facilitate her return to work while she was on long-term sick leave. The officer found the employer did not know she wished to return until 18 May 2022. After that, it invited her to a medical assessment, and her solicitor acknowledged the invitation before the complaint issued on 21 June.
