WRC rejects Anuaj Patwardhan’s discrimination complaint against Black Shamrock

The Workplace Relations Commission found that Anuaj Patwardhan’s complaint of discriminatory dismissal against Black Shamrock Ltd was not well founded. The decision, dated 20 October 2023, found no evidence that her Indian origin was a factor in her dismissal and said the religion ground had not been substantiated. Patwardhan, who worked as the company’s HR and Operations Manager, alleged that she was dismissed because of her ethnic origin and religious beliefs. The respondent attributed the dismissal to performance concerns.
