WRC rejects Rafal Morton’s race discrimination complaint against SAR Group

The Workplace Relations Commission found that Rafal Morton was not discriminated against by SAR Group, part of MCR Group Companies. The decision was dated 16 March 2023 and concerned his claim of less favourable treatment at work. Mr Morton, a security guard at a Dublin hospital, said he was overlooked for overtime and assigned less favourable duties because he was Polish and on an older contract. The company said overtime was offered through a WhatsApp group and security staff shared traffic duties. The WRC found Mr Morton had not shown that he was treated less favourably than colleagues in similar circumstances. His race discrimination complaint therefore did not succeed.
