WRC rejects John Ryan’s redundancy claim against Racket Hall Hotel

The Workplace Relations Commission found John Ryan’s redundancy complaint against Swiftcastle Roscrea Ltd t/a Racket Hall Hotel was not well founded and failed. Its decision was dated 12 June 2023. Ryan sought statutory redundancy after leaving his door security work at the hotel. The adjudicator found he had voluntarily stopped working in January 2020, when door work was still available; the later Covid shutdown did not make his departure a redundancy.
