The Workplace Relations Commission found that Quicktraining did not engage in prohibited conduct after a participant alleged discrimination when he was not permitted to complete a Safe Pass course. The decision, dated 14 February 2023, rejected the complaint under the Equal Status Act.

Thomas Conway said he was discriminated against on disability and religious-belief grounds. Quicktraining denied discrimination and said it called the Gardaí because of safety concerns and its obligations under Covid regulations.

The officer found Conway had not established that he had a disability or a religious belief protected by the Act. The officer also found he had not established that Quicktraining’s safety concerns amounted to less favourable treatment connected to a discriminatory ground.
