The Workplace Relations Commission found a hospital porter’s €136.64 overtime complaint against the Health Services Executive not well founded in a decision dated 21 February 2024. James McMahon argued he was owed time-and-a-half for hours above 39 in a week. The WRC accepted the attendance record showing he was on paid COVID-19 leave for most of the week in question and worked eight hours after returning. It found he was not entitled to overtime for that week.
