The Workplace Relations Commission found that Xs Direct Broker Insurance Ltd unlawfully deducted €2,400 from Angela Donohue’s wages and ordered the company to pay her that amount, less statutory deductions. The decision was dated 5 April 2023. Donohue said the company imposed a 15% pay cut without her agreement and claimed losses for the six months to 21 January 2022. The WRC found that her payslips supported her account and that the reduced wages were less than she was contractually owed. The respondent was in receivership and did not attend the hearing. The receiver said the claims concerned a period before its appointment.
