The Workplace Relations Commission has directed Xs Direct Insurance Brokers Ltd to pay Sinead Wicks €5,442, less statutory deductions, after finding the company reduced her wages without agreement. The decision was dated 16 March 2023.
Wicks, who worked as a senior fraud handler, said the company cut her pay by 15% for six months without her agreement. The adjudication officer relied on payslips and corroborating evidence, finding that the reduction was unilateral and that she was paid less than her contract entitled her to. The respondent, which was in receivership, did not attend the hearing.
