Jessica Quinn awarded €500 in annual leave complaint against Rebelshed Ltd -The Green Bar

The Workplace Relations Commission found Jessica Quinn’s annual leave complaint against Rebelshed Ltd -The Green Bar well founded and awarded her €500, equivalent to one week’s pay. Quinn said she had accrued 91.6 hours of leave, taken 40 hours and had not been paid for the rest when she left her job. The company said she had used her entitlement and received 32 hours of outstanding holiday pay. The parties agreed that she had taken 40 hours and been paid for 32 hours. The adjudicator found that records did not distinguish work, annual leave and sick leave. After accounting for 17 hours treated as leave, 2.6 hours remained unaccounted for; the adjudicator accepted Quinn’s account and found the complaint well founded. The decision was dated 5 January 2023.
