WRC awards Michal Wrobel four weeks’ remuneration for unfair dismissal

The Workplace Relations Commission upheld Michal Wrobel’s constructive dismissal complaint against Haccius Logistics Limited and awarded four weeks’ remuneration in compensation. The decision was dated 17 August 2022. The respondent conceded that the dismissal was unfair and argued for four weeks’ compensation; Wrobel sought six weeks. The adjudication officer said Wrobel had applied for only two jobs and found his efforts to find work entirely inadequate, amounting to a failure to mitigate his loss. The officer therefore awarded the minimum four weeks’ payment.
