WRC rejects complaints by Alex Silva against Paint Effects

The WRC found eight complaints by Alex Silva against Paint Effects Limited were brought outside the time limit and were not well founded; the merits were not decided. The decision, dated 8 December 2022, also found three minimum-notice complaints not well founded because Silva had less than 13 weeks’ continuous service. Silva’s representative said the employer had delayed negotiations and mediation attempts had failed. The company denied causing delay. The WRC found there was insufficient evidence of reasonable cause for filing the eight complaints more than six months after Silva’s employment ended.
