The Workplace Relations Commission found Decathlon Sports Ireland Limited did not discriminate against Bernard Gilroy on disability grounds after a face covering was requested at a store. The decision was dated 20 September 2022. Gilroy said staff asked him about his exemption from wearing a face covering. Decathlon said he was allowed to enter and stay in the store and left when he chose. The WRC found he had not established a prima facie case of discrimination, saying no medical evidence had been provided to Decathlon at the time and it was not on notice of a disability.
