WRC rejects Patrick O' Reilly’s accommodation discrimination complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission found Patrick O' Reilly’s complaint against Sophia Housing Association Company Limited By Guarantee not well founded. O' Reilly said he had accepted an offer of Apartment 4 but was not given the chance to sign a licence agreement, and that Apartment 1 was of lower quality. The association said O' Reilly had not accepted Apartment 4 and that it withdrew the offer before making another long-term offer. The adjudicator preferred the project manager’s evidence, supported by case notes, and found O' Reilly accepted Apartment 4 only after viewing Apartment 1, when Apartment 4 was no longer available. The decision was dated 24 January 2023.
