The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Mark J. Savage’s religious-discrimination complaint against Secure Management Solutions Limited, finding it was not well-founded. The decision was dated 20 January 2025. Savage alleged that he was asked to leave a Specsavers store in January 2021 because he would not wear a mask, which he said conflicted with his religious beliefs. The company said it arrived after the initial exchange and knew only that he was refusing to leave and acting anti-socially. The adjudicator found it was unaware of his beliefs and said disbelief in the pandemic was not inherently a religious belief.
