The Workplace Relations Commission allowed Masood Ur Rehman’s redundancy appeal and ordered Roti Panni Ltd to pay compensation for unpaid annual leave, public holidays and minimum notice. The decision, dated 26 March 2025, also established his entitlement to a statutory redundancy payment, subject to insurable employment.
The WRC found Rehman had more than 13 years’ continuous service through successive business transfers. It found he was owed 30 days of annual leave and public holiday entitlements on termination, and six weeks’ notice. The employer did not attend the hearing, which proceeded in its absence.
The adjudication officer ordered €41,600 compensation for annual leave and public holiday breaches and €2,400 for the minimum notice breach. The WRC considered annual leave claims only for the 12 months before the complaint was lodged; earlier years were outside that period.
