The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) found Jacinta Daly’s complaints against St John of God Community Mental Health Services Cluain Mhuire were not well founded. The decision, dated 20 October 2022, found no unlawful deduction from her wages and no age discrimination. Daly said her earlier experience should have placed her higher on the salary scale and that newer, less experienced employees had been placed higher. The service said her June 2016 contract set her salary at point 6 and that her pay had progressed under its terms. The adjudicator found no unlawful wage deduction. Daly said the age complaint was not about age, but related to equal pay. The adjudicator found she had said the complaint had nothing to do with age and found she was not discriminated against.
