WRC finds Eddie Lyons was fairly dismissed by Servecentric

The Workplace Relations Commission found Eddie Lyons was fairly dismissed by Servecentric Limited after his role as chief executive was made redundant. The decision, dated 30 March 2022, said the position was legitimately redundant at the time and that no suitable alternative roles were available. Lyons argued that redundancy was used to remove him and pointed to a CEO appointment 11 months later. Servecentric said financial difficulties had led to cost reductions and the later role was materially different.
