The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Panscape Partitions Systems Limited to pay Michael Forde €292.60 for unpaid daily travel money. In a decision dated 4 January 2023, it found the Payment of Wages Act complaint well founded. Forde said he was entitled to two hours’ travel money per day, including leave days. The company said it had stopped the payments because it could not afford them, then resumed paying one hour a day but not for leave. The WRC found Forde had a contractual entitlement to two hours’ travel money per day, including leave days, and that the payment was part of his contractual pay rather than an expense.
