The WRC recommended that an employer pay a worker €10,000 over flaws in a public service recruitment competition and a delayed internal review. The recommendation was dated 7 December 2022.
The worker was marked on driving aptitude and fitness without practical assessments. The Commission for Public Service Appointments found the general scoring fair, but said driving and fitness were not appropriately assessed on paper and identified breaches in the internal review and its timing.
WRC adjudication officer Marie Flynn recommended €5,000 for the shortlisting flaws and €5,000 for the delay under section 13 of the Industrial Relations Act 1969.
