WRC finds Thomas Byrne resigned from haulage job

The Workplace Relations Commission found Thomas Byrne resigned from his driving job and that his unfair-dismissal complaint was not well founded. The decision, dated 25 October 2023, said the complaint failed. Byrne said he was told there was no job for him when he returned from holiday. The respondent said he had indicated he was leaving and had another job lined up. The adjudication officer accepted evidence that Byrne said he had another job and noted he secured new employment almost immediately.
