The Workplace Relations Commission found that Infosys BPM did not treat part-time worker Lorcan Kerry less favourably over the allocation of annual leave. The decision was dated 22 August 2023. Kerry worked 16 hours a week at weekends as a technical care agent. He said he could not access the company’s new QStory leave system and received an error when he tried to request leave through the old Injixo system. Infosys BPM denied treating him less favourably than comparable full-time staff. The adjudication officer accepted there had been a technical problem with Kerry’s access to QStory, but found he did not alert his team leader until 23 January 2021. The issue was resolved and leave for the following four weekends was allocated within 48 hours. The officer found Kerry had not shown less favourable treatment, noting that a full-time employee using the old system would have received the same error. The complaint was declared not well founded.
