The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Ideal Technics to pay Stephen Sawyer €1,512 for an unpaid wage shortfall, €750 over rest breaks and €750 over missing Sectoral Employment Order information in his contract. The decision was dated 17 December 2024. Sawyer alleged that he was paid below the Sectoral Employment Order rate after qualifying as an air-conditioning and refrigeration engineer, did not receive adequate rest breaks and lacked required SEO information in his contract. The WRC upheld those three complaints. Four other complaints were withdrawn; the older part of the wage-rate claim was out of time.
