The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Jason Arkins €7,220 after finding that Metropolitan Films International Limited had not given him a proper written statement of his employment terms. The decision was dated 15 December 2023. The WRC found the statement gave the wrong employer name and address and an incorrect start date. Arkins had worked as a stagehand on film and television productions. The commission found he was laid off from June 2018 until 1 December 2019, when he was not called back, and that his complaints were within the time limit. His separate claim for wages during the lay-off was found not well founded because wages were not properly payable while he did no work. His complaint under the Organisation of Working Time Act was withdrawn.
