WRC rejects technician’s complaints over job terms and transport rules

The WRC found a technician’s complaints against a retail company about changed job terms and mobile road transport rules not well founded. Adjudication Officer Eugene Hanly dated the decision 18 December 2019. The technician said a store transfer led to a new contract changing his title and other terms without proper notice. The company said the contract was issued in error but reflected an evolved role, and that a pay-rate error had been corrected with €5,779 in arrears. The WRC found the written contract notified him of the title change. It also found the parties were not involved in a transport services business, so the regulations did not apply.
