The Workplace Relations Commission found that Golf Shop unfairly dismissed a shop manager and awarded her €7,133.56 in compensation. Adjudication Officer Caroline McEnery dated the decision 25 April 2017. The manager said she had not been consulted before being made redundant, offered another role or given an appeal hearing. Golf Shop said financial pressure led it to remove her role and scale down the shop. The adjudicator found she was not told her job was at risk until August 2016. A part-time employee remained, but that position was not offered to the manager, and other options to avoid redundancy had not been considered. The adjudicator calculated compensation of €18,008.64, then deducted the €10,875.08 redundancy payment the manager had received, leaving €7,133.56.
