The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation of £100 and an appropriate reference, rejecting Occassions Hairstyling’s appeal. The decision was signed on 25 January 1994. The dispute concerned the worker’s reduced hours and her claim that she had been made redundant. The Amalgamated Transport and General Workers Union, which represented her, argued she had been unfairly dismissed and was owed a week’s wages. Occassions Hairstyling said it offered work on Saturdays only and that she left voluntarily.
