The Labour Court recommended that Unifi Tye Limited and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union continue the existing holiday system for shift workers on an interim basis while promptly addressing problems fairly and consistently. Its recommendation was signed on 18 January 1994. The union said holiday controls introduced in April 1993 caused considerable inconvenience and disputed the company's interpretation of its agreement. The company said the system complied with the agreement and was being operated fairly. The Court also recommended that the parties immediately discuss a system acceptable to both and consistent with their agreements.
