In 1993, the Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation that D.C. Services Limited pay a worker £500 compensation after finding he was unfairly dismissed without fair procedures. The Court’s decision was dated 21 September 1993. The worker appealed, seeking reinstatement after his job ended about a week after the company’s shareholders split and went their separate ways. He said he had a good work record and was caught up in a dispute between the partners. The company said a cancelled contract led to the partnership ending and that it had stopped trading. The Labour Court found no grounds to change the recommendation.
