In 1992, the Labour Court rejected Galway Social Services Council’s appeal and left standing a recommendation to regrade a worker from Grade 3 to Grade 4. The decision was dated 22 December 1992. A joint evaluation assessed the post as equivalent to Grade IV. The Council argued that the worker’s advice work was outside its remit and that funding was limited. The Irish Municipal Public And Civil Trade Union argued that her pay did not match her responsibilities.
