The Labour Court decided on 18 August 1989 that a recommendation supporting a change to working arrangements at Irish Biscuits Limited should be implemented. The dispute concerned staffing and portering during feed-back operation at the Jahn Chocolate Enrober. The Amalgamated Transport and General Workers' Union, Federated Workers' Union of Ireland and Bakery and Foodworkers' Amalgamated Union objected to how the company introduced the change and sought clarification on staffing and overtime. The Court found the change would have little or no impact on earnings or workload and that its material effect was minimal.
