The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation that a temporary Clerk of Works’s claim against Bray Urban District Council fail. The Court signed its decision on 28 July 1988. The worker claimed £1,291.75 over the ending of his contract, annual leave and time and expenses spent pursuing the dispute. He said the Council ended his employment before the Ballywaltrim contract was complete and breached his contract. Bray Urban District Council said his appointment terms allowed the contract to end when the houses were completed and that all money due had been paid. The Rights Commissioner found that the contract ended according to the appointment letter and recommended that the claim fail. The Labour Court found no grounds to alter that recommendation.
