The Labour Court rejected a worker’s appeal over his driving seniority at Dublin Bus. The decision was signed on 11 May 1988. The worker moved from driving to conductor duties in 1980 and resumed driving in 1986. He argued the 1981 agreement should not apply to him and that he had not chosen to give up his former driving seniority. Dublin Bus said the agreement required him to relinquish driving seniority when his conductor seniority was restored. The Court found no departure from the 1981 seniority agreement was warranted.
