The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation against a worker’s claim for a full-time Monday-to-Friday Linen Porter role at Clarion Airport Hotel. The decision was signed on 27 September 2013. The worker appealed the recommendation, which had not found in favour of his claim. The union said he had performed the Linen Porter role before an injury and returned to it three days a week after sick leave. The hotel said he was employed as a House Porter/Laundry Assistant, another worker held the Linen Porter role, and it had offered alternatives. The Court considered both sides’ submissions and upheld the recommendation.
