The Labour Court overturned a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation and directed the Dublin Examining Board to pay €3,750 to a worker. The decision was signed on 22 July 2009. The appeal concerned a dispute over annual leave, treatment at work and dismissal. The worker said she had been misinformed about her leave entitlement, was treated unfairly when she sought leave and was dismissed without her complaints being handled under procedures. The Board said it offered alternatives for additional leave and ended her probationary employment after disputes over her contract and working relationship. The Court said her treatment fell short of best practice in several respects.
