The unnamed teenager’s appeal against his life sentence for murdering Urantsetseg Tserendorj was dismissed by the Court of Appeal on 19 December 2023.
He was 14 when he stabbed Tserendorj on a deserted Dublin street. The sentencing judge imposed life detention with a review after 13 years, and the Court of Appeal found no error in the review period.
The court said the attack involved a planned knife robbery that developed into an intention to cause serious injury. The appeal court had previously rejected his appeal against conviction.
