Garda Sean Lucey has pleaded not guilty to assaulting cameraman Colm Hand and damaging his camera at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, in a report dated 11 December 2019.

Closing arguments were heard in the trial over the incident at Cathedral Street, Dublin, on 6 February 2016. Defence counsel said Lucey used reasonable force, while prosecutors argued footage would show he struck Hand with a baton as he retreated.

Judge Melanie Greally was due to address the jury on the law before deliberations began.
