Sean FitzPatrick’s trial on charges of misleading auditors and furnishing false information had three replacement jurors sworn at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 26 September 2016.
FitzPatrick had pleaded not guilty to 27 offences under the 1990 Companies Act, including 22 alleged misleading, false or deceptive statements to auditors and five charges of furnishing false information.
The jury then comprised nine women and six men. Judge John Aylmer reminded jurors to remain impartial, avoid outside information and not discuss the case with family or friends.
The judge asked the jury to return the following afternoon before being sent away for approximately two weeks.
