Michael Lynn’s sentence appeal leaves five years and nine months in place; conviction appeal remains pending

The Court of Appeal quashed Michael Lynn’s original sentence after finding an error in how credit for time served on remand in Ireland had been handled. It resentenced him to five years and nine months on each of the 10 theft counts, to run concurrently, from December 20, 2023. The appeal court said the change would effectively leave the sentence unchanged if prison authorities applied the full three months’ credit for remission.
In March 2026, The Currency reported that Lynn had dropped a Supreme Court appeal against his sentence but still had an appeal against conviction pending. He was serving the tail end of his five-and-a-half-year term at Shelton Abbey prison.
