Samuel Devlin’s judgment on an explosives possession charge was deferred by the Special Criminal Court, with the decision due on 1 March 2016. He had pleaded not guilty to possessing PETN at Finnstown House Hotel, Lucan, Co Dublin, on 11 May 2014. Devlin was remanded in custody until the judgment date.
The prosecution said PETN was found inside detonating cord in a laptop bag in the chalet where Devlin was staying. His defence argued that the prosecution had not proved he knew about or controlled the substance.
