O’Halloran brothers lose privilege challenge in debt case

By Saoirse Doyle

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Brendan O'Halloran and Patrick O'Halloran lost a privilege challenge in the High Court on 29 July 2016 concerning company debts.

The court refused their application to inspect documents covered by Aiden Murphy's valid claim of legal professional privilege.

Murphy, the company's official liquidator, was seeking orders making the brothers personally liable for its debts.

He also sought declarations concerning proper records, reckless trading, alleged intent to defraud creditors, disqualification or restriction.

The judgment records that these matters formed part of the winding-up proceedings involving TSON Limited.

This report covers an earlier stage of the case. Later developments are not reported here.
