The High Court rejected a challenge by North East Pylon Pressure Campaign Ltd to halt An Bord Pleanála’s oral hearing on EirGrid’s proposed North-South electricity interconnector. Mr Justice Richard Humphreys refused the group permission to challenge the Board’s decision to hold the hearing, saying the process should be allowed to conclude.
The group represented almost 200 landowners in Cavan, Meath and Monaghan. The ruling concerned an ongoing planning process; the court refused leave to bring the challenge at that stage.
