Muiris Flynn faces resentencing for dangerous driving

By Orla Quinn

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The Court of Appeal found Muiris Flynn’s sentence for dangerous driving causing serious bodily harm unduly lenient, reported on 20 October 2020, and ordered resentencing.

Flynn had received four years in prison, with the final two and a half years suspended, after crashing into cyclists while over the drink-driving limit and uninsured. He was also disqualified from driving for eight years.

The appeal court said it would consider all sentencing options, including a substantial fine, with judgment expected by the end of October.
