Michael Reilly was sentenced to three years in prison, with the final year suspended, for assault causing harm at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. The proceedings were reported on 14 July 2020. The assault occurred on 11 November 2017 at the Pavilion Shopping Centre Roundabout on the Malahide Road in Swords, where he boxed in another driver’s car and punched him.

Judge Martin Nolan suspended the final year on condition that Reilly pay €2,000 to a garda for onward transmission to the victim. Reilly had pleaded guilty to the offence. He was already serving a sentence for a separate 2018 assault involving another motorist.
