Marc MacSharry settled his High Court case over unlawful processing and disclosure of personal data. On 21 March 2024, the court was told that the action had been fully resolved.

The court declared that SIPO unlawfully processed his personal data and disclosed confidential information, breaching his privacy rights and confidence.

The judge granted the declarations and orders and struck out the proceedings. MacSharry was also to receive legal costs incurred in bringing the action up to a date in January 2024.
